Welcome to the homepage of your new theme. This is the intro paragraph style which can give extra impact to an opening sentence or two. It can serve as a tagline or short prompt for the content that follows.
This is the standard body text for the basic page which has been designated as the homepage. This content can be edited like any other basic page, though other features on the homepage are typically supplied dynamically by widgets and custom templates.
Create your own homepage and set it as the front page of your site by choosing it from the dropdown on the reading settings page.
That page will replace this one as the front page of the site, but these instructions will still be available to you until you delete the page.
The theme options page contains several options for post types, archive pages, sidebars, and footer content.
The customizer page contains more options for banner style, header images, fonts, and social media icons.
Available post types are News, Events, People, Courses, Testimonials, and Photo Galleries. Add or remove post types on the theme options page.
The news and events post types include the option to import events from https://news.cornell.edu and https://events.cornell.edu. To import news and events, visit the settings pages here:
Several theme options can be overridden on a page by page basis, so be sure to notice any in-page options that are available to you when creating or editing a page or post.
This theme comes with eight default header images for you to choose from (these can also be randomized).
The customizer Header Image tab sets the header image for the entire site. This can be overridden for each page using the Featured Image field in the sidebar of the edit screen.
Pages with children will share their header image with all child pages, but a child page may override the parent page’s featured image with one of their own.
Replace the header image on the homepage by choosing that option from the list of options on the homepage edit screen.
Add slides and captions to the image slider by using the custom fields provided and the Featured image field on the edit screen.
There are three widget areas below the main content area and above the footer, a sidebar widget area, and another widget area specifically for the homepage. These can be added and removed on the widgets page.
Some navigation menus were automatically created when you activated the theme. Create, edit, or delete menus on the menus page.
